WHERE TO BEGIN
Does this sound like you?
You don’t need a diagnosis to start therapy. If any of these resonate, we can talk.
“I can’t stop overthinking”
Anxiety, racing thoughts, and constant worry that won’t quiet down.
“My relationship feels stuck”
The same arguments, growing distance, or a loss of connection.
“Work is burning me out”
Exhaustion, pressure, and the feeling you’re running on empty.
“I feel disconnected from myself”
Low mood, numbness, or a sense that something needs to change.
“Fatherhood feels overwhelming”
The weight of responsibility, identity shifts, and silent pressure.
“I don’t know where to start”
You just know something isn’t working — and that’s enough to begin.

Couples Therapy
Men’s Therapy
For partners who feel stuck, distant, or caught in the same fight.
When you and your partner keep circling the same argument, or the distance between you has grown so wide you are not sure how to reach each other — couples therapy can help you slow down the pattern, understand what is happening underneath, and rebuild safer communication.
• Repeated arguments that never resolve
• Emotional distance or disconnection
• Difficulty communicating without escalation
• Rebuilding trust after a breach
• Navigating major life transitions together
Approach: James uses Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) informed approaches to help couples identify their negative cycle, understand the emotions driving it, and create new patterns of connection.

ABOUT JAMES
A grounded, practical approach to therapy.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist working with couples and men in London, Ontario and online across the province. I work with people who are carrying more than they should have to carry alone — whether that looks like relationship strain, anxiety, burnout, or a quiet sense that something needs to change.
My approach is warm but direct. I am not interested in giving you advice or telling you what to do. I am interested in helping you slow down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and build practical steps forward that actually fit your life.
I draw on Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) — choosing what fits the person in front of me rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.

QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about starting therapy.
What happens in a free consultation?+
The consultation is a brief 15–20 minute phone or video call. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, I will explain how I work, and you can ask any questions. There is no pressure to commit — it is simply a chance to see if we are a good fit.
My partner is hesitant about couples therapy. What should I do?+
This is very common. Many partners are unsure at first. You are welcome to book a consultation on your own to discuss the situation, and I can help you think through how to approach the conversation with your partner.
What is the difference between in-person and online sessions?+
Both formats follow the same therapeutic approach. In-person sessions take place at the London, Ontario office. Online sessions happen via secure video (through Jane App) and are available to anyone in Ontario. Many clients find online therapy just as effective and more convenient.
How long does therapy take?+
It depends on what you are working through. Some people find clarity in 6–10 sessions. Others benefit from longer-term support. We will check in regularly about your progress and adjust as needed — there is no minimum commitment.
Is therapy confidential?+
Yes. Everything discussed in therapy is confidential, with a few legal exceptions (risk of harm to self or others, child abuse, or a court order). I will explain these limits clearly at the start of our work together.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?+
I offer some evening availability. You can view current openings when you book through the online scheduling system, or ask about availability during your consultation.
Will my insurance cover therapy?+
Many extended health benefit plans in Ontario cover Registered Psychotherapist services. I provide receipts after each session that you can submit to your insurance provider. Check your plan details or contact your provider to confirm your coverage.
