You don't need a diagnosis to start therapy.

If any of these resonate, we can talk.

Choose the path that feels most relevant to you.

For partners who feel stuck, distant, or caught in the same fight.

When you and your partner keep circling the same argument, or the distance between you has grown so wide you are not sure how to reach each other — couples therapy can help you slow down the pattern, understand what is happening underneath, and rebuild safer communication.

James uses Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) informed approaches to help couples identify their negative cycle, understand the emotions driving it, and create new patterns of connection.

For men carrying more than they should have to carry alone.

Whether it's work stress, anxiety, burnout, relationship strain, or a quiet sense that something isn't right — men's therapy gives you space to slow down and understand what's happening beneath the surface.

James works with men who are used to handling things themselves but are finding that approach isn't working anymore. Therapy isn't about venting — it's about building practical tools that actually fit your life.

Therapy office in London, Ontario

A grounded, practical approach to therapy.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist working with couples and men in London, Ontario and online across the province. I work with people who are carrying more than they should have to carry alone — whether that looks like relationship strain, anxiety, burnout, or a quiet sense that something needs to change.

My approach is warm but direct. I am not interested in giving you advice or telling you what to do. I am interested in helping you slow down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and build practical steps forward that actually fit your life.

I draw on Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) — choosing what fits the person in front of me rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about starting therapy.

The free consultation is a brief 15–20 minute phone or video call. It's a chance to share what's bringing you to therapy, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit. There's no obligation to book.
It's common for one partner to be more ready than the other. Feel free to reach out on your own first — we can talk through what couples therapy looks like and what your partner might be concerned about. Sometimes hearing more information helps ease hesitation.
Both formats are equally effective for most concerns. In-person sessions take place at the London, Ontario office. Online sessions are conducted via a secure video platform and are available to anyone in Ontario. Many clients find online sessions more convenient and prefer the flexibility.
It varies depending on your goals and situation. Some people find significant progress in 8–12 sessions; others prefer longer-term support. We'll check in regularly on how things are going and adjust the pace accordingly.
Yes. What you share in therapy stays between us, with a few exceptions required by law — for example, if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others. I will explain confidentiality fully in our first session.
Many extended health benefit plans cover services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist. Coverage varies by plan — check your benefits booklet or call your provider to confirm. I provide receipts after each session for reimbursement submission.
